I’ll still be here until next Friday, so I’ll keep going until then (smiley face).

So here are my first bowl picks for the SEC in 2011:

BCS National Championship Game

LSU vs. Oregon

BCS Sugar Bowl

Arkansas vs. TCU

Capital One Bowl

Florida vs. Nebraska

Cotton Bowl

Alabama vs. Oklahoma

Outback Bowl

Mississippi State vs. Ohio State

Chik-Fil-A Bowl

Georgia vs. Miami(FL)

Music City Bowl

Tennessee vs. Maryland

Liberty Bowl

Ole Miss vs. UCF

BBVA Compass Bowl

Auburn vs. UConn

  1. I’m not sure on this but wouldn’t the Sugar bowl bid go to the runner up in the SEC or is it the second best record? I’ve been a college football fan for almost 20 years and I have never looked in depth at how the bowls are selected I just have the basic understanding of it

  3. Not necessarily- Auburn got the BCS Championship bid last year, while Arkansas got the Sugar Bowl… in 2007, LSU beat Tennessee for the SEC Championship, while Georgia got the Sugar Bowl… in 2006, Florida beat Arkansas for the SEC Championship, while LSU got the Sugar Bowl.

  4. So im assuming that one of those teams in Neil’s national championship will have one lose since they play each other the first game of season… So does Neil have a one loss Oregon or LSU?

  5. So I will assume the 1 Oregon loss comes from LSU at the beginning of the year and the LSU loss will come from the almighty Gators
